Occurred on July 26, 2023 / Oakland, California, USA<br /><br />: "I witnessed a high-speed police chase of an armed carjacker in West Oakland on July 26. A speeding police car was broadsided by the speeding stolen van on 34th and West. In the resulting collision, a fire hydrant was hit and both cars almost killed me and my friend where we stood on the corner. I managed to jump out of the way just in time. <br /><br />Multiple people and cars were involved in the armed carjacking and were being pursued by authorities, including three BMWs. One other person has been detained thus far. <br /><br />The suspect / driver can be seen thrown from the van if you watch frame by frame. He ended up suffering what looks like a traumatic brain injury, as other published videos show him experiencing seizure-like symptoms following the crash. He and the driver of the police car were taken to the hospital."
