As Former President Donald Trump faces his third indictment, he received support from an ally turned foe, who is contesting against him in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.<br /><br />Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vouched to end weaponization of the government in the wake of Trump's indictment over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.<br /><br />“As President, I will end the weaponization of government, replace the FBI Director, and ensure a single standard of justice for all Americans,” the Florida governor tweeted.<br /><br />DeSantis said he sees the necessity for enacting reforms so that “Americans have the right to remove cases from Washington DC to their home districts.”<br /><br />“Washington, DC, is a ‘swamp’ and it is unfair to have to stand trial before a jury that is reflective of the swamp mentality,” he added.<br /><br />The presidential hopeful also said politicization of the rule of law is one of the reasons that the country is in decline.<br /><br />“I will end the weaponization of the federal government.”
