The Nimrod MR2 was a maritime patrol aircraft developed by Hawker Siddeley from the Comet airliner. It was used by the Royal Air Force for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, and electronic intelligence missions. The Nimrod MR2 had a crew of 13 and was equipped with a search radar, a magnetic anomaly detector, sonobuoys, torpedoes, and missiles.
