Thousands of Flights , Affected by Severe Storms.<br />On Aug. 8, over 300 flights were canceled <br />and more than 900 were delayed after <br />severe storms pummeled the eastern U.S. <br />the day before, CNN reports. .<br />1,600 flights were canceled <br />and 8,200 were delayed on Aug. 7. .<br />LaGuardia Airport in New York <br />has been the most impacted.<br />20 flights have been canceled, <br />while 11 have been delayed.<br />Airports have also been affected in <br />Atlanta, Newark and Boston.<br />After the severe storms hit the region on Aug. 7, close to 400,000 homes and businesses lost power. .<br />At least two people have been killed, CNN reports.<br />In addition to the weather, <br />staffing shortages have been <br />causing issues for airlines.<br />On Aug. 7, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that a limited number of New York flights are able to travel north through Canada due to "staffing issues."
