Amid a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war—and mankind itself.<br /><br />Always good to see a new original science fiction movie that isn't tied in to ongoing franchises. However, it does feel like it could have been a part of the Terminator universe at one point. It does look absolutely gorgeous.<br /><br />The Creator film is directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Rogue One) from a screenplay co-written with Chris Weitz, and a story from Edwards. The film stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Allison Janney.<br /><br />The Creator is scheduled to be released in the United States on 29th September 2023, by 20th Century Studios.
