Tropical cyclone Goring (international name: Saola) continues to intensify, reaching severe tropical storm status on Friday afternoon, Aug. 25, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).<br /><br />In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Goring has maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 135 kph.
