The bank holiday weekend saw disruption to major UK airports, including in Manchester<br /><br />Issues with air traffic control on Monday August 28 impacted travel plans for thousands of passengers after a network-wide failure.<br /><br />Manchester Airport is now warning travellers of continued delays and cancellations due to the system fault.<br /><br />Controllers were having to input flight plans manually meaning they could not process the same volume and "traffic flow restrictions" had to be implemented.<br /><br />Although the issues were fixed late on Monday afternoon, the impact of the disruption is still being felt.<br /><br />In a new statement released on Tuesday morning, the airport said: "Following yesterday's nationwide technical issue that affected air traffic control, there continues to be some delays and cancelations.”<br /><br />It is urging passengers to check their flight status with their airline before travelling to the airport.
