Staff today (1) were seen removing furniture from one of more than 100 schools forced to close due to concrete safety fears.<br /><br />Staff at Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy, Leicester, could be seen removing chairs and bookcases after they were forced to delay the start of term.<br /><br />Workmen could also be seen on the site, helping remove furniture and doing construction work on the school roof.<br /><br />The primary school in Leicester is one of 104 schools in England - and one of three in Leicester - forced to shut some buildings due to concrete safety fears.<br /><br />Between 1950-1990 schools were built using RAAC panels - a lightweight form of concrete - which has led to a number of structural failures in recent years.<br /><br />Yesterday (31/08) the Government announced schools across England would be forced to close due to concerns buildings could collapse without warning.
