This is the bizarre moment a shirtless driver leaps from his vehicle - to try and tackle a notorious GOAT.

Ward Webb, 26, spotted the animal as he was driving a golf cart around Birmingham, AL.

The goat - dubbed 'Billy' - had made headlines in the city after escaping from a pick-up truck.

Ward, a project manager, was then out with girlfriend Hannah Perkinson, 26, when he saw the goat.

She said he leapt out of the cart to try and catch it because he's a "good ol' country boy".

Ward was unsuccessful on camera, but is said to have caught the goat "shortly after".

However, 'Billy' then escaped again - before being caught and returned to its owner on July 23.

Hannah, an elementary school teacher, said: "While Ward was letting the dogs out he saw the goat run by.

"He yelled to me to jump in the side-by-side ranger so we could drive to it and he could catch it.

"He is shirtless because he was letting his dogs do their business outside when the goat ran by.

"It was hot so he still had work pants on but his shirt was off.

"I saw about the loose goat on the news but we didn’t plan on catching it.

"Shortly after this video Ward and a couple of other neighborhood men caught the goat!

"But he jumped the fence again that same day…"

'Billy' was eventually caught by a Jewish community group - after an hour-long chase.

The Levite JCC said on Facebook: We are pleased to report that -- after an hour-long pursuit around the LJCC campus -- staff and members helped Billy the Goat's owner peacefully apprehended the handsome-but-wiley fugitive.

"He truly is the greatest of all time. Billy is now back in the hands of his owner."

The footage was filmed on July 20.
