Two residents of the Indian state of Kerala have succumbed to the Nipah Virus.<br /><br />As a result, the government has closed several schools, offices, and suspended public transportation services.<br /><br />In addition to the two fatalities, three individuals have tested positive for the Nipah virus.<br /><br />This is a rare and deadly virus, that originates from bats or pigs and damages the brain.<br /><br />The Nipah Virus was first discovered in 1999, and the Kerala region has been battling it since 2018.<br />
