Endangered bird that broke its beak released into the wild - with new custom-made beak

A stork that broke its beak has been released into the wild after being given a new prosthetic mouthpiece.<br /><br />The endangered white bird was struggling to feed itself and survive in the wild.<br /><br />Fortunately, the bird was rescued by crews from The Honghe National Nature Reserve in China's Heilongjiang province.<br /><br />The experts at the nature reserve managed to create a custom beak and fitted it onto its muzzle.<br /><br />After it was securely fit, the bird was released into the wild and was able to soar again.<br /><br />Oriental storks are listed as an endangered species with between 2,000 and 2,500 still remaining in the wild and in conservation projects.<br /><br />The species is found in the wetlands of China, Japan, Korea and other parts of East Asia.
