At around 2:15 a.m. on October 6, 2023, six brand new Tesla electric cars caught fire in Istanbul while being transported by a car carrier truck to the point of sale.<br /><br />The car carrier truck was running on Göçbeyli Street in Tepeören district when one of the electric cars on the truck exploded and caught fire for unknown reasons.<br />The fire quickly spread to other electric cars, all 6 electric cars on the truck were engulfed in flames.<br />People who saw the fire used fire extinguishers to try to put out the fire and called the fire department.<br />Firefighters arrived at the scene, and it took about two hours to completely extinguish the fire.<br />All six electric cars were seriously damaged in the fire and were determined to be a total loss.<br /><br />The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
