A Russian skydiver, 45-year-old Dmitry Belyayev, died while participating in a parachuting competition dedicated to Vladimir Putin's 71st birthday. The incident happened in Gudermes, Chechnya.<br /><br />According to the Parachuting Federation of Russia, Belyayev made a mistake during his landing approach and collided with the water surface at an increased vertical speed.<br /><br />Medical workers tried to save Belyayev's life, but he died at the scene.<br /><br />Belyayev was a member of the Russian national team and had completed more than 3,700 jumps over the course of his career.
