Two civilians and a police officer were stabbed at Atlanta airport by a female knife-wielding assailant.<br /><br />Videos shared online showed a woman facing off with airport security while brandishing a weapon and passengers huddling together for safety. <br /><br />Atlanta Police Department say all three victims - a female traveller, a male, and a police Lieutenant - are "alert, conscious and breathing" and the assailant is in custody.<br /><br />A spokesperson said: "Officers engaged the female, attempting to talk her into dropping the knife and working to restrict her movement and move travellers from the area.<br /><br />"During the encounter, the female suspect stabbed an adult female and then an APD lieutenant as he attempted to take her into custody.<br /><br />"After taking the female into custody, officers learned she had stabbed an adult male, prior to officers encountering her.<br /><br />"All victims are alert, conscious and breathing and have been taken to the hospital. The female suspect was not injured and was taken to the airport precinct."<br /><br />An investigation into the attack on Wednesday (11/10) is underway.
