A high-tech robo-brickie has completed its first outdoor build.<br /><br />Hadrian X is described as the world’s most advanced construction robot and is designed to lay bricks at speeds of up to 500 blocks an hour.<br /><br />Australian company FBR say the system is capable of building structural, load-bearing walls of a brick or block house in as little as a day.<br /><br />The system sees a large truck park up and extend a 32-metre telescoping boom capable of handling blocks up to 600mm x 400mm x 300mm.<br /><br />A special construction adhesive is used in place of mortar, allowing for continuous building and improving the strength of the walls.<br /><br />It can complete both external and internal walls of a standard double brick house over three storeys.<br /><br />Hadrian X only needs a two-person crew using tablets or mobile devices, with one operating the Hadrian X system and the other overseeing the telehandler.<br /><br />FBR say the innovation is "designed to build structures safer, faster, cheaper and more accurately, with waste virtually eliminated compared to traditional manual methods."
