41 states sue Meta for harming children's mental health<br /><br />Forty-one states, including California and New York, file a lawsuit in federal court in California against Meta Platforms Inc. for routinely collecting data on children under 13 without their parents’ consent, in violation of federal law. The suit claims that Meta harms young people and contributes to the youth mental health crisis by knowingly and deliberately designing features on Instagram and Facebook that addict children to its platforms.
