Japan, PH leaders forge defense pact amid China's aggression<br /><br />Japan and the Philippines will start negotiations for a defense pact to conduct joint military exercises in response to China's regional assertiveness. During Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's visit to Manila, he revealed a grant of a coastal surveillance radar under a new security assistance program.
