A bus driver from who was sacked for running over a woman and killing her at Buchanan bus station in 2021 has been hired for a similar role at another company. <br /><br />George McInally was working for First Bus when the incident happened which saw 71-year-old Rosanne McLaughlan die from serious head injuries after attempting to cross the road. <br /><br />McInally was fired from the company and is currently on bail.<br /><br />Next up, First Bus drivers in Glasgow have voted to strike concerning a pay dispute.<br /><br />Unite the union said 99 percent of members voted in favour of the action with a 77 percent turnout. <br /><br />Drivers previously rejected a pay offer, saying it fell below the pay levels of other drivers in the group’s other UK operations. <br /><br />And in other news, Marks and Spencers are set to open a new store in the city after receiving approval from Glasgow City Council.<br /><br />The new premise, which will be a food hall, will be situated on the grounds of the former Victoria Infirmary in the Southside.
