Videos shows otters dodging a crocodile’s jaws - and chewing on its tail.

Wildlife conservationist Bernard Seah – known as the OtterGrapher – was visiting Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore, on October 28.

Footage shows a crocodile relaxing in shallows surrounded by a group of otters.

A couple run up to the tail stump and bite down - forcing the giant predator to swing its powerful jaws.

Bernard said: “I was so excited to see this happen out of the water and in full view.

“The crocodile was about two and a half metres long without the tail but if he had a tail, would probably be close to five metres long.

“It was likely hatched out of the egg with a tail deformity. He has managed to survived for at least 30 years like this though.

“The otters are fearless. They know they are faster than the crocodile so they just need to stay away from its mouth.

“I have been documenting crocs and otters in Singapore for over 10 years.

“I volunteer with both saltwater crocodiles plus two otter species - smooth-coated and Asian small-clawed otters.”
