Russian off-road co-driver Aleksandr Eryzhinsky, 33, was killed during the first round of the 2019 Russian Trophy Raid Championship, held in Gelendzhik, southern Russia, on Saturday, 30 March 2019.<br /><br />The accident happened during the ascent to the Ostraya mountain, when the Suzuki #49 in which he was co-driving to Mikhail Chaykovskiy, went out of control and rolled backwards several times before crashing into trees.<br /><br />Aleksandr Eryzshinsky was killed instantly. The driver Mikhail Chaykovskiy, 45, suffered serious injuries but managed to left the car by himself. The event was stopped after the fatal accident.<br /><br />Born on 05 December 1985, Aleksandr Eryzhinsky was current Rostov Oblast champion in two disciplines, Trophy Raids and Road Rallies. A resident in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, he was buried in the village of Bagayevskaya stanitsa, where he grew up and attended the school. He graduated from the University of Novocherkassk.
