A police officer crawled across a thinly frozen lake to rescue two fishermen and a dog who had fallen through.<br /><br />Body-camera footage shows Deputy Chris Fjeld crawling across the ice to rescue the three.<br /><br />The heroic deputy was able to rescue the two men and the dog using a rope, which was tied around his waist.<br /><br />The men were fishing on a lake in Nowthen, Minnesota, USA on December 5th when they fell through the ice.<br /><br />Fjeld and Deputy Curt Grabmeie were first on the scene and decided they couldn't wait for backup.<br /><br />Anoka County Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Unit equipment and resources were on their way but could not be there immediately.<br /><br />As such, Fjeld decided to go out to rescue the men and their pet, who had become hypothermic.<br /><br />Both men, the dog and Deputy Fjeld were able to make it safely to shore and the men were transported to a nearby hospital. <br /><br />The Sheriff's Office said: "Noticing the males were showing signs of hypothermia, Deputy Fjeld made the decision to begin the rescue before the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Unit equipment and resources arrived.<br /><br />"With support from the other responders on the scene, both males, the dog, and Deputy Fjeld were able to get off the water.<br /><br />"We are thankful all involved are ok and are proud of Deputy Fjeld’s selfless actions to help others in need."
