Blake Williams of Burleson, Texas, was killed as a result of an drag race collision at the Yello Belly Drag Strip in Grand Prairie, Texas, on Thursday, 17 November 2016 night.<br /><br />The accident occurred around 23h00, when 40-year-old Aki Gatson, driving a red Ford Mustang, lost control of his vehicle near the end of the dragstrip at an estimated speed of 140 mi/h (225 km/h) and hit the black Mercury Cougar driven by Blake Williams thAT he was racing against. Both vehicles then swerved off the track and struck a tree. The 1980s model Cougar then smashed into a concrete wall and exploded, which caused the driver to be ejected from his vehicle and killed on impact.<br /><br />The 23-year-old Blake Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. Aki Gatson was taken to the Methodist Dallas hospital with non life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.<br /><br />R.I.P
