Watch this POV video of a cat playing hide and seek with his owner.

Dexter the cat learnt how to play hide and seek when he was just seven months old.

According to his owner Neil Vary, 46, Dexter, an F7 Savannah cat, came up with the idea on his own and now asks to play every day.

A video, captured by a camera attached around Dexter's neck, shows the pet hiding from and then finding his owner.

Savannah cats are part serval, a type of African wildcat, so the moggy has a lot more energy than a normal housecat.

Neil, who lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, said: "It kind of came naturally. Savannah cats have dog-like personalities so they're very playful.

"They need a lot of attention. He's a very hyper cat and he loves to play."

Usually, Dexter, one, proposes the games to Neil and then the two will take turns running to hide and find each other.

Neil said: "We didn't train him. He really trained us.

"We would chase him and then he would chase us. That quickly evolved into a full-blown game of hide and seek."

Neil says he can tell by Dexter's body language when he wants to play.

Neil then signals to Dexter that he's also ready to play by wiggling his fingers - a move that Neil's wife Janet Greene, 45, came up with.

Neil decided to mount the camera on Dexter's collar so he could see what the games looked like from Dexter's eyes.

He said: "I thought an interesting POV would be Dexter's and it seemed to work. I want Dexter to be a famous cat."

The plan seems to be working his videos have amassed up to 60k views on Tiktok.

Dexter is even more dog-like than he initially seemed.

Neil added: "He also loves to play fetch. We play that every day.

"Savannah cats require a lot more attention than the typical house cat."
