Protesters force closure of Zara's Glasgow branch amid anger over the company's latest campaign.<br /><br />Zara pulls ad campaign accused of mocking images from Gaza<br /><br />Zara has pulled images of a recent ad campaign criticised for using photos resembling images from Israel’s war on Gaza.<br /><br />The photos sparked major controversy among pro-Palestine groups, who called them the ‘the most disgusting thing ever seen’ as they staged walk-in protests at the fashion giant’s locations across the world on Monday.<br /><br />he campaign featured models posing with ‘unfinished sculptures’ in a artist’s studio, which the retailer said was ‘created with the sole purpose of showcasing craft made garments in an artistic context’.<br /><br />But the photos have drawn parallels to harrowing images emerging from Gaza as the besieged enclave continues to suffer constant bombardment.<br /><br />Images of dead children and adults wrapped in white sheets and laid outside hospitals have sparked outrage around the world – and now Zara has been accused of ‘making fun’ of the situation with their Atelier campaign.<br /><br />In response to the outrage, Zara removed the images and issued an apology, reading: ‘Unfortunately, some customers felt offended by these images, which have now been removed, and saw them in something far from what was intended when they were created.
