Transatlantic Railroad formed in 1965 at the San Rafael School in Marin County. The group played in mid-sized venues in the San Francisco area, and recorded two tracks for a planned souvenir album which was not released. Between 1967 and 1968 the group released a single and also recorded material for an album, but also this was not released until 2001 with two bonus tracks added.
