Jesse Stafford took over the leadership of a music ensemble after the death of Herb Wiedoeft, a fine trumpet player and band leader who died tragically on May 12, 1928.<br /><br />Wiedoeft was in a car accident in Medford, Oregon. His car skidded off the Medford-Klamath Falls highway.
