Network Rail had their work cut out for them as train tracks flooded in Kirkstall.<br /><br />Teams were busy working on the waterlogged rail lines, near to the Kirkstall Bridge Inn, in Bridge Road, throughout the morning.<br /><br />Closer to Kirkstall Abbey, the River Aire had come as close to its banks as is possible without flooding.<br /><br />The miserable weather caused chaos for commuters, as trains were cancelled on what is, for many, the first day back in work after the festive period.<br /><br />Stations including Kirkstall Forge, which is normally busy with office works, was transformed into a ghost town. Buses were put on to replace the cancelled trains.
