A terrible accident which resulted in the death of a rider, occurred at the Autódromo Internacional El Jabalí, during the first round of the Copa ESA 503 Central American Championship, around noon on Sunday, 13 March 2022.<br /><br />The deceased motorcyclist was Jorge Méndez, 22-year-old, from El Salvador. While running in the leading group shortly after the start of the race, he lost control of his #22 bike at the exit of a fast bend of the circuit. Méndez was thrown against the outside wall, before being hit by his bike. Death was almost instantaneous.<br /><br />A well-known rider in his country, Jorge Méndez was a member of the Club Biker KNK. One month after his death, the moto club organised the "Copa Jorge Méndez" at El Jabalí, in his memory.<br /><br />Located about 25 kilometers (16 miles) northwest of the capital city San Salvador, in the village of Quezaltepeque, La Libertad district, El Salvador, the Autódromo Internacional El Jabalí is a 3.250-kilometer long permanent racing circuit, operational since February 1979.<br /><br />R.I.P
