The People’s Palace and Winter Gardens has been awarded £850,000 worth of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. <br /><br />The money is intended to go towards a restoration project which will see renovation and preservation works throughout the building to protect the museum and community space for future generations. <br /><br />This is expected to cost £35.9 million in total. <br /><br />Next, the entire contents of the former Debenhams store on Argyle Street is set to go to auction. <br /><br />The shop was closed permanently at the start of 2021 while the building is now set for redevelopment. <br /><br />The auction will include mannequins, furniture and unsold goods. <br /><br />And finally, the Ted Baker in Princes Square is set to close after operating for 36 years in the centre.<br /><br />Bosses have said they are searching for a more affordable unit. <br />
