A woman sent a video to her boss explaining why she's unable to work - while in labour.

The hilarious video shows Tamara Drpic, 24, explaining her absence and promising to answer emails despite being "a little loopy" from the fentanyl given for the pain.

Tamara says: "I'm actually going to have a baby tonight.

"Right now I'm drugged up on fentanyl because of the epidural but yeah it came sooner than I expected.

"But don't worry - I'm going to wrap up some emails and stuff."

Tamara, an internship manager from Washington D.C., USA, wasn't due for a week so the baby was a surprise.

She made the video in May 2023, just three hours before giving birth and immediately forgot about it.

The new mum only discovered the video this month while scrolling through the videos on her phone.

Tamara said: "I was a little loopy so I forgot about it.

"I can be a little goofy and less professional but I think the epidural played a role in sending it."

Tamara gets along great with her boss, who took it in her stride and made no mention of the video once she returned.

She said: "I got back to work in August and it wasn't even mentioned. I think she just kept it to herself."

She added that her boss wouldn't have minded her absence and that she didn't feel obliged to record it.

She said: "She told me to log off and focus on my baby, it's the opposite, she's the most chill, relaxed person in the world.

"She hired me years ago - in 2018 - she's my work buddy."
