The World Indoor Bowls Championship was interrupted by a sex noises prank while live on the BBC.

Harry Goodwin was facing Stewart Anderson in the first singles semi-final match when the porn noises were heard on a loudspeaker.

The crowd saw the funny side of it as they broke down in laughter while the BBC commentator played it down as a 'sound issue'.

He said: 'Well, we have a problem somewhere but hopefully it will get sorted out quickly. Sounds like a sound issue, excuse the punt.'

Goodwin could not keep a straight face as he smirked almost immediately and looked around to see where the noise was coming from.

The 'sex noise' prank has taken place on several occasions over the past years, most notably during a live broadcast of an FA Cup match last year.

During the BBC's coverage of Wolves vs Liverpool in January 2023, Gary Lineker and pundits were embarrassed as the noise disrupted them in the studio for over 10 minutes.

Youtuber Daniel Jarvis, from Gravesend, Kent, then claimed responsibility for the porn noises though it was not known how he got access.

The same prankster got up to his tricks once again last month when sex noises interrupted the draw for Euro 2024.

Former Manchester City star David Silva, and much of the audience, were left stunned after the sounds began to play, with everyone seemingly powerless to stop them.

And in November 2017, BBC's Political correspondent at the time Emma Vardy was interrupted by the racy audio as she reported live on Brexit.

It led to suggestions that the BreX-rated noises beamed to television screens across the nation could have been caused by a pair of 'moaners'.
