Ecuadorian racer Milton Vera, 36, from Manta, was shot and killed just seconds after he won a race at Milton Torres rallycross track at anto Domingo de los Colorados in central Ecuador. It happened on Sunday, 10 July 2022.<br /><br />Vera, who raced in the local rallycross championship, just crossed the finish line of T2 category race with his green car #423 when his car was surrounded by spectators. Suddenly, one of them pulled out a gun and fired at least four shots inside the car before fleeing the scene. Vera and his co-driver were taken to the local hospital where the former was declared dead minutes after the arrival.<br /><br />Following Vera's murder, the organizers canceled the remainder of the day's rallycross events.<br /><br />R.I.P
