The Wensleydale Creamery has ‘exported’ an age-old Yorkshire cheese tradition to the heart of London to help highlight the economic and tasty benefits of the rural economy to the UK. <br /><br />Proud Yorkshireman William Hague, MP, the Shadow Foreign Secretary, took part in the event to promote the virtues of eating Real Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese - accompanied by fruit cake! <br /><br />The Wensleydale Creamery is based in his constituency in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and is one of the major employers in the area. <br /><br />The reception, held at Claridge’s in London’s Mayfair, also showcased a range of Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheeses, handcrafted by The Wensleydale Creamery, which is based at Hawes, in Wensleydale.
