A camper got a ‘huge fright’ when he came face-to-face with a massive elephant while leaving a toilet block.

Alistair Lyne was filming one of the huge animals searching for water during the dry season at Elephant Sands Lodge, Botswana.

Hilarious footage captured the moment a fellow tourist came out of the bathroom and straight into the path of the elephant.

Stunned by the massive creature blocking his exit, the man’s jaw literally dropped before he turned straight back into the toilet.

Alistair said: “A visitor got a huge fright when they come face-to-face with a wild African elephant bull drinking grey water from a drain that has been broken into by other elephants.

“During the dry season elephants are many and water is scarce. So the wild elephants break infrastructure to get access to water any way they can. They are that thirsty.

“The elephants are tolerant of the humans and have chosen to coexist.

“This is likely because Elephant Sands Lodge has been supplementing the natural water supply to help the elephants and other wildlife get water since the year 2000.”
