A couple were shocked when they found their baby had mastered how to whistle - at just eight months old.

Katy and Travis Reger, both 33, discovered that that their son Asher Reger could whistle one day at home.

Asher, who is now nine months old, is their first child so the couple didn't think much of it and assumed most babies do it.

Katy, a stay-at-home mum from Paris, Texas, USA, said: "To be honest because he's our first child and I just didn't really think much of it.

"But when family and friends started hearing him whistle and were pretty amazed by it, I realized it must be pretty rare to have a little whistling baby.

"His whistling always made us smile and laugh so I figured I would share that joy with everyone."

Katy has a good idea of where Asher most likely acquired the unusual skill and that is from his dad Travis.

She explained: "I’m pretty sure he picked it up from my husband.

"He whistles little songs to Asher all the time, when he first heard him whistling he couldn't believe it."

After a few attempts to capture him on video, Katy finally managed to film the youngster happily "whistling while he worked."

She said: "It's very random when he does it. It usually happens when he is focused on trying to do something.

"It’s really hard to catch him actually doing it though. By the time I get my phone out and hit record, he has stopped.

"He also has good and bad days.

"Some days he can whistle so easily and other days he really has to work on it.

"But it soon became my mission to try to catch it on camera, It took a few days but I finally captured it and decided to upload it to TikTok."
