Disposable vapes will be banned in the UK as part of government plans to tackle young people taking up e-cigarette habits.<br /><br />This news was announced at the end of January this year, and comes as part of the government's response to its consultation on smoking and vaping, launched in October 2023.<br /><br />This new law will ban disposable vapes, restrict flavours and introduce plain packaging so they don't appeal to children, and make it illegal for anyone born on or after January 1 2009 to purchase tobacco products to create a smoke-free generation.<br /><br />The use of vapes and e-cigarettes in younger children is rising, and we asked people in Manchester for their thoughts on the ban.
