Three engines and a more rugged look complete the retro-futuristic performance EV of our fantasies.<br /><br />The Rivian R2 is the brand's new entry-level electric SUV. But he has a brother. During the R2's launch event, Rivian launched the new R3, an even more compact SUV in performance-focused R3X trim.<br /><br />Details of the sporty SUV are still thin, but we know it will feature a tri-motor setup. And if the R2 can go 300 miles on a charge while still hitting 60 mph in under three seconds, the R3X should be even faster.<br /><br />Visually, the R3X looks absolutely solid. Larger wheels and tires and a slight increase in ride height will help it off-road, and extra cladding around the bumpers and wheel wells will help protect it from the elements. There are also orange accents on the exterior; mirror covers, bumpers, tow hooks and more are available.<br /><br />The interior features two-tone black and beige seats with orange accents and aluminum accents. CEO RJ Scaringe describes the interior as "rugged and fun because it's rugged and fun."
