The Senate passed the Property Tax Amendment Bill 2024, late last night...with One Independent Senator having voted against it and one Independent Senator voting in favour of it.<br /><br />But after an Independent Senator raised a concern about the power of the Minister in the bill, the Finance Minister gave a committment that in the next Finance Act , he will "put a cap on the Maximum amount of property tax that any Minister of Finance will be able to impose."<br /><br />Juhel Browne reports.
