A tornado touched down in southern Louisiana injuring several people.<br /><br />Footage released by the Slidell Police Department shows the damage caused by the tornado on on Wednesday.<br /><br />The video shows multiple buildings that sustained severe damage, power lines down and emergency crews attending to the scene.<br /><br />The National Weather Service later confirmed that the area was hit by a category EF-1 tornado with winds anywhere from 86 mph (138 kph) to 110 miles per hour (177 kph).
