She proceeded to push him to the ground and repeatedly hit his face with a brick, police said.<br />“Go back to your country, why are you here, bad things,” a resident who witnessed the incident told a local CBS affiliate.<br /><br />Rodriguez is a legal U.S. citizen. Erik Mendoza, his grandson, told the local station his grandfather doesn’t speak English and doesn’t understand why he was attacked. <br /><br />Rodriguez reportedly has a broken cheek bone, broken ribs and has suffered bruises all over his body.
