Luke Littler produced an outrageous performance to brush past two-time world champion Peter Wright on Thursday evening, hitting an incredible triple-double 20 to seal a 6-4 victory. <br /><br />The 17-year-old will now advance to the semi-final of Premier League Darts Night 16 in Sheffield and will take on Michael Smith later tonight after he defeated Nathan Aspinall. <br /><br />The PDC World Darts Championship finalist started slowly by his standards against Wright, affording him a 2-1 lead in the opening three legs.<br /><br />Despite that he'd bounce back, claiming the next three legs, notably hitting three consecutive double-20s to take a 3-2 lead over Wright.<br /><br />His imperious performance stunned 'Snakebite' with the 54-year-old turning back towards his table before taking a big gulp of water as the crowd inside the Utilita Arena went wild at the 17-year-old's feat. <br /><br />Luke Littler sends the crowd wild here in Sheffield, producing an extraordinary 120 checkout which leaves Peter Wright stunned!<br /><br />What a talent <br /><br />With Littler kicking into second gear, he'd go on to claim the next leg, before Wright produced two 180s to stop the teenager in his tracks and pull a leg back at 4-3. <br /><br />But Littler would recover his two-leg lead soon after, going 5-3 up, and despite a late comeback from Wright, who took the penultimate exchange, Littler would close out the match at 6-4. <br /><br />It means the Brit has now bested Wright twice in two consecutive quarter-final clashes on the Premier League Darts circuit. <br /><br />The teenager defeated the Scot 6-1 on Night 15 but was subsequently thumped by Michael van Gerwen himself in the resulting semi-final. <br /><br />Tonight's result means Littler will finish at the top of the Premier League Darts standings, having qualified for the play-offs at the O2 in London on May 23. He'll be joined by Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen - who have also qualified.<br /><br />Luke Littler defeats Peter Wright to ensure he will end his debut PL season top of the pile!<br /><br />Smith meanwhile bested Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in the other quarter-final tonight, setting up a semi-final clash with Littler. <br /><br />It was a dominant display from Smith who reeled off the final three legs, checking out for 136 in one, to secure victory.
