King Charles beamed as he appeared on the Royal Opera House stage on Thursday (16 May) evening.<br /><br />The King was paying tribute to the out-going Music Director, Sir Antonio Pappano.<br /><br />Sir Antonio's 22-year tenure was celebrated with a one-off gala performance.<br /><br />The King joined Sir Antonio and performers on stage at the end of the show.<br /><br />As Prince of Wales, the King became President of the Royal Ballet in 2003 and Patron of the Royal Opera House in 2009.
