Jurgen Klopp's farewell match in charge of Liverpool also turned out to be the start of new beginnings - with one couple becoming engaged in the stands at Anfield.<br /><br />In a heartwarming video posted on social media, one lucky girlfriend's partner was seen stooping to his knee and opening a white box containing the ring.<br /><br />The couple then exchanged a touching kiss before the ring was placed on her finger.<br /><br />Several supporters sat around them initially stunned by the moment but quickly offered their congratulations as the grinning man received pats on the back.<br /><br />He and his fiancee then appeared to pose for a picture to capture the moment.<br /><br />The sweet gesture looked to have taken place in the main stand at the ground on an occasion that saw a capacity crowd flock to pay tribute to the departing Klopp.<br /><br />All the while, the action continued down on the pitch with the Reds running out comfortable 2-0 victors against the Wolves in their final game of the season. <br /><br />The newly engaged couple would also have been present for Klopp's last emotional speech to the crowd, in which he thanked them for their loyal support.<br /><br />'When it's hard, you keep believing,' Klopp said. 'You push the team, you wait not for the goal or whatever. Be on your toes before we start.<br /><br />'We, because I am one of you now. Thank you!'<br /><br />Arne Slot was yesterday officially confirmed as Klopp's successor. He will take over as head coach from the start of next month on a deal believed to run until 2027.<br /><br />Mail Sport revealed last week how Slot, 45, had emerged as the club's No 1 candidate to replace the legendary Klopp after a thorough, data-led search. <br /><br />Liverpool will pay £7.7million as a base figure but this could rise to £9.4m. <br /><br />Slot, who won the Dutch Cup last month and the Eredivisie title last season, will also bring trusted lieutenants Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters, and Etienne Reijnen.
