How Did Sponge Cola Get Their Band Name?<br /><br />'Sponge' plus 'Cola'? What's that supposed to mean? Well, Sponge Cola frontman, Yael Yuzon is letting you in on that secret.<br /><br />They say coming up with a band name can be difficult and frustrating to some artists, which can be surprising given the fact that there's always a wordsmith or two in the group. Perhaps inspiration really plays a huge role; prompting artists to be patient and wait for something that really represents their sound.<br /><br />Yael and his friends did come up with a name that resonates with their music. Nope, they didn't just flip open a dictionary and try to intentionally misspell a word. But you could say they were able to keep it simple yet enigmatic and there's a couple of cultural references to thank for.
