Amazing timelapse footage shows the Falkirk Wheel’s four minute operating time in just a few seconds.<br /><br />Footage shows the wheel transferring a canal boat from the Union Canal - 35 metres down - to the Forth and Clyde Canal below.<br /><br />David Wilkinson, 47, captured the footage on Sunday June 9.<br /><br />David, an accountant from Falkirk, Scotland, said: “Anytime I put anything out on socials about the Falkirk wheel, it gets a really good response.<br /><br />“Lots of people have seen it from around the world and a lot of the time they don’t believe it’s real."<br /><br />David's videos have gone viral with 109m views Facebook and 13m views on TikTok, where he posts under the name Scotdrone <br /><br />He said: "I've had commenters from Australia and America and lots of them don't believe its real.<br /><br />"The Falkirk locals can get a bit defensive in the comments when they see that!<br /><br />“I think because it's one of a kind, people have never seen anything like it.<br /><br />“I even had people asking if it was AI!”<br /><br />The Falkirk Wheel opened in 2002 and is the world’s only rotating boat lift.<br /><br />It is now one of Scotland’s busiest tourist attractions with 500,000 visitors each year.
