China on Thursday warned the Philippines of “consequences” if the country did not stop what Beijing deemed “provocations” in the disputed South China Sea.<br /><br />Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian made the remark at a daily news briefing when asked about the criticisms launched by the Philippines against what they said was pirate-like behavior by Chinese coast guards against Filipino navy personnel during their supply mission to their territorial outpost in a disputed shoal.
