While tornado warnings exist to encourage people to get as far away from the disaster zone as possible, Sophia uses them to get an up-close view of nature's wrath. <br /><br />"There was a tornado warning in Montgomery County, Maryland," Sophia commented. "I am very passionate about tornadoes, but I’ve never had the chance to see one. I was listening to the radar and the news and heard that a tornado had touched down in Darnestown, which is 10 minutes from my house. So, I took off with my mom, driving to see if we could find the supercell storm.<br /><br />"As we were driving towards the storm, we ended up in Gaithersburg.
