Dozens of senior citizens hit the track for the second-ever "Grandparents Race" held in a US city - with a few face-planting along the way.<br /><br />The annual event, in its second year running, was held at the Emeralds Down racetrack in Auburn, near Tacoma, Washington, USA, on Sunday (30/06). <br /><br />Divided into two groups - grandmas and grandpas - the seniors sprinted off from the starting blocks as best they could, aiming to reach the finish line.<br /><br />Some grandparents quickly toppled on their way and didn't quite make it to the end, but no one's grandma or grandpa was seriously injured.<br /><br />The winners received their trophies atop a pedestal with second and third place stood on either side.
