A man in his 20s has died and another left wounded after being shot on 'Britain's roughest estate'.<br /><br />Emergency services were called to Well Lane, in Blakenall Heath, Walsall, West Mids., after the victims were gunned down in broad daylight on Monday (8/7). <br /><br />A man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene while another man was taken to hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. <br /><br />West Midlands Police are now hunting the gunman who struck at around 5pm on the residential street in an area previously branded "Britain's roughest."<br /><br />A force spokesperson said: "Officers remain on Well Lane while we conduct forensic examination of the area. <br /><br />"We are also speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV. <br /> <br />"We understand the alarm that such incidents cause and there will be an increase in police presence around the area in coming days. <br /><br />"Officers will be offering reassurance, so please talk to them if you have any concerns. <br /> <br />"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote log 3637 of 8 July. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."<br /><br />Blakenall Heath was given the unwelcome title last year after residents revealed they were living in fear of yobs as young as 10.<br /><br />Locals said youths had been running riot and even ripping live pigeons apart while one travel vlogger found a squashed rat in a kid's park. <br /><br />Others compared it to living in 'war-torn Ukraine' after their lives were plagued by gangs of knife-wielding youths.
