Dozens of volunteers, residents and members of the Sustainable Climate Resilience Initiative today planted and repaired parts of the New Cut Channel river bank, in Woodland. <br /><br />There are numerous breaches along the river’s banks posing the potential risk of severe flooding in an already flood prone community. <br /><br />The project to plant a special type of grass and use sand bags to stabilize the banks was conceptualized by the Sustainable Climate NGO. <br /><br />Reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh was in Woodland on Thursday and tells us more.
